


To celebrate International Girls in ICT Day 2026, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is hosting a global online mentorship event bringing together mentors, girls, and young women to explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in agrifood systems. Under the theme “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” this initiative aims to empower young women to engage with emerging technologies and contribute to closing the digital gender gap.
Taking place on April 23, 2026, the event will feature a two-hour virtual mentorship session where participants can learn directly from experts across the private sector, academia, and UN agencies.
