LEBANON – The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund stated that, given the difficult security situation in Lebanon and the exceptional challenges it poses to various sectors, especially health, the Fund is taking all necessary measures to provide uninterrupted health services to insured individuals.

In line with its social and humanitarian responsibility, the Fund’s Director General, Dr. Mohamad Karaki, issued Circular No. 597 on 3/3/2026.

It requests all contracted hospitals to receive displaced insured individuals who need regular treatments, such as dialysis or chemotherapy, and who had prior hospital approvals but cannot currently reach their treatment centers.

Hospitals are also asked to receive urgent and emergency cases that require immediate intervention.

Medical documents and reports should be organized according to approved procedures, with hospital approvals processed later through the official administrative mechanisms.

Additionally, to ensure continued payments to hospitals and doctors for insured patients, Dr. Mohamad Karaki issued Circular No. 132 on 2/3/2026.

This authorized a new payment of 130 billion LBP for 2,047 hospital cases that insured individuals previously benefited from and were properly completed.

Since the beginning of 2026, the total amount paid by the Fund to contracted hospitals and doctors for insured patients has exceeded 752 billion LBP.

This step reflects the administration’s commitment to financial stability for hospitals, supporting the resilience of the health sector, and ensuring insured individuals receive proper and safe care despite the ongoing challenges.
