LEBANON – The Disaster Risk Management Unit and the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued updated reports tracking the sharp deterioration of the humanitarian situation, the growing displacement, and escalating hostilities.

Displacement and Shelters

Recent official statistics show unprecedented numbers of displaced people:

• Total displaced: 700,000 people, both inside and outside official shelters.

• Self-registered displaced: 667,831 people officially registered.

• Collective shelters: 119,700 displaced people (31,400 families) are staying in designated shelters.

• Number of shelters: 567 shelters have been opened and equipped across different governorates.

Authorities encourage displaced people who wish to go to available shelters to check the online platform: find.shelterslebanon.info to see which shelters still have space.

Field Developments and Human Losses

Reports recorded a major escalation in hostilities, totaling 1,161 incidents, with the following outcomes:

• Deaths (in 24 hours): 92 people.

• Injured (in 24 hours): 183 people with various injuries.

• Cumulative totals: 486 deaths and 1,313 injured to date.

Targeted Areas

Maps show high intensity of military operations and evacuation orders in the South (Tyre, Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil), the Bekaa (Baalbek-Hermel), and the southern suburbs of Beirut (Baabda, Choueifat).
