LEBANON – The Electricité du Liban (EDL) issued a statement saying:
Amid the current security situation and the rapid rise in global oil prices, which directly affect production costs and negatively impact revenue collection across Lebanon due to the ongoing crisis, the EDL monitors the situation daily and carefully, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Water.
The company takes appropriate measures continuously and adjusts its production policy and operational plan to match the latest developments.
The goal is to ensure electricity supply continues as much as possible, especially for essential public facilities in Lebanon, including:
• Beirut International Airport
• The port
• Water pumping stations
• Sewage systems
• Courts
• Government offices and other key public facilities
EDL aims to navigate this difficult period with minimal impact on public services and citizens.
The company assures all Lebanese that electricity supply is stable and continues to assess the situation regularly, taking all necessary operational and technical measures to cope with current challenges and overcome this crisis.
