LEBANON – Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture, held a coordination meeting with the Disaster Risk Management Unit.
The meeting included the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Food and Agriculture sector under the Lebanon Response Plan, and representatives from FAO, WFP, and UNDP.
The goal was to strengthen coordination and create a joint mechanism to rapidly assess the conditions of farmers in villages affected by attacks in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, and Baalbek-Hermel.
Officials discussed ways to track farmer displacement to ensure agricultural and humanitarian support reaches those in need on time.
Minister Hani emphasized the importance of avoiding duplication of aid, responding quickly to urgent needs, and protecting farmers’ livelihoods while supporting rural community resilience during these exceptional challenges.
