LEBANON – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that over 130,000 people have crossed from Lebanon into Syria, while the number of displaced people inside Lebanon has exceeded one million since the beginning of March, due to the rising conflict in the Middle East.
The organization explained that these movements put pressure on vulnerable communities and increase humanitarian needs, especially in shelter, food, and cash assistance.
According to the data, the majority of those crossing into Syria are Syrians (95%), while 5% are Lebanese, mostly families or workers who were in Lebanon and plan to return when conditions improve.
