United Nations Warns of Escalating Humanitarian Crisis for Lebanese Children

LEBANON – United Nations agencies have issued strong warnings about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Lebanon due to ongoing conflicts, highlighting shocking figures that reflect the suffering faced by civilians, particularly the most vulnerable children.

According to data released by UNICEF, Lebanon is witnessing an unprecedented wave of child displacement, with at least 19,000 children (boys and girls) being displaced daily in search of safety.

To put this into perspective, the organization explained that this enormous number is equivalent to “hundreds of school buses” departing every day, each carrying children who have lost stability in their education and family life.

UNICEF has documented field cases of children, including a 10-year-old girl and her sister, who sought refuge in public schools that were converted into emergency shelters after they lost safety in their homes.
