BEIRUT - A new shipment of humanitarian aid has arrived at the Port of Beirut, showing continued solidarity between Türkiye and Lebanon amid escalating humanitarian needs.
The assistance, organized by Turkish civil society groups and coordinated by the Sadaka Stone Association, is part of ongoing efforts to support Lebanon as it grapples with mounting challenges.
The initiative was announced during a ceremony attended by senior Lebanese officials, representatives of international organizations, and the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon, Murat Lütem.
Speakers emphasized that the aid comes at a critical time, as Lebanon faces increasing humanitarian pressure due to continued Israeli attacks that have led to widespread displacement and infrastructure damage.
The shipment consists of dozens of containers carrying relief supplies valued at over $3.5 million. Items include essential goods such as beds, blankets, pillows, tents, clothing, and ready-to-eat food, aimed at alleviating the suffering of affected families.
Kemal Özdal, head of the Sadaka Stone Association, said the initiative reflects a commitment to stand by the Lebanese people during difficult times. He noted that Turkish organizations had previously delivered around 1,000 tons of aid to Lebanon in 2025 and pledged continued support.
Distribution will be carried out in coordination with the Higher Relief Commission, alongside municipalities and local civil society groups, to ensure transparency and effective delivery to those most in need across the country.
The latest shipment builds on a series of Turkish-led relief efforts, reinforcing humanitarian cooperation and regional solidarity as Lebanon continues to navigate a deepening crisis.
