LEBANON — Lebanon’s Ministry of Culture announced the expansion of its cultural outreach programme “Culture Brings Us Together,” describing it as a continuation of its earlier initiative “Our Library Brings Us Together."

The initiative aims to provide safe spaces for meeting, expression, and recreation within public libraries and reading centres across the country.

In a statement, the ministry said the original program had helped create accessible cultural and social spaces in multiple regions, reflecting its belief that what unites Lebanese society is stronger than what divides it.

It added that investing in culture is an investment in people and in their capacity to recover and rebuild during periods of instability.

The ministry said the expanded initiative responds to growing needs for social cohesion and cultural engagement during ongoing crises.

The program will extend activities beyond traditional library settings to include additional cultural institutions and new public spaces.

It will also introduce a wider range of activities designed to reach broader segments of society and reinforce culture as a core element of daily life.

According to the ministry, the initiative is being developed in cooperation with local community organisations, cultural and creative sector actors, as well as administrators of public libraries, reading centres, and cultural animation spaces across Lebanon.

Planned activities include storytelling sessions and book discussions, puppet theatre, circus performances for children, art therapy sessions, educational support activities, film screenings, craft workshops, and awareness programmes highlighting Lebanon’s cultural heritage.

The ministry said schedules of events will be released progressively through its social media platforms, allowing the public to follow updates and participate in upcoming activities.

It encouraged citizens to stay informed via its official Instagram accounts: @ministryofculture.initiatives and @lebanese.ministry.of.culture.
