Finland Funds UNICEF Lebanon Programme with EUR 2.7 Million Grant
The agreement aims to strengthen education and protection services for vulnerable children and adolescents across Lebanon through UNICEF-supported Makani centres.
LEBANON - UNICEF and the Government of Finland have signed a new EUR 2.7 million agreement aimed at supporting Makani centres across Lebanon over the next two years.
The funding will enable UNICEF to continue delivering quality, inclusive education and protection services for children and adolescents, helping them access learning opportunities, develop their skills, and reach their full potential.
Makani centres, supported by UNICEF, provide integrated services including education, psychosocial support, and child protection interventions for vulnerable children and young people.
UNICEF expressed its appreciation to Finland for its continued partnership and commitment to supporting children and adolescents in Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of sustained international cooperation to address ongoing humanitarian and educational needs in the country.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure that every child has access to safe learning environments and the support necessary for their development and well-being.
