LEBANON - Lebanon could set a new Guinness World Record with what organizers say will be the world’s largest artificial intelligence training hackathon, an online event expected to attract tens of thousands of participants from around the globe.
The seven-day AI Hackathon, scheduled for July 15-22, has already received more than 33,000 registrations, according to organizers.
The hackathon is being held in partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Technology & AI, reflecting growing efforts to position Lebanon as a regional hub for technology and digital innovation.
The initiative, led by Lebanese entrepreneur Roy Baladi, aims to expand access to AI education by providing free training for participants regardless of their technical background.
The event is designed for beginners and experienced learners alike, with training focused on building AI agents, applications, presentations, videos, automation tools, and other AI-powered solutions.
Participation is free, and attendees will receive an accredited AI certificate from the Lebanese American University Academy of Continuing Education (LAU ACE) as well as a published AI portfolio. Participants will also be eligible for a range of prizes.
