LEBANON – Credit Libanais has equipped seven Ministry of Finance centers with its point-of-sale (POS) terminals, enabling citizens to pay government fees, taxes and financial dues electronically using their bank cards, in Lebanese pounds or US dollars.

The initiative is part of efforts to advance digital transformation, expand the use of electronic payment methods and reduce cash transactions, while facilitating government procedures and modernizing payment mechanisms.

The POS terminals are currently available at Ministry of Finance centers in Adlieh, Baabda, Jbeil, Jdeideh, Jounieh, Tripoli and Baalbek. The centers have also been provided with awareness and guidance materials explaining how citizens can use bank cards or QR codes when completing their transactions.

According to the bank, the initiative forms part of a broader effort to digitize government payments. The amounts collected electronically will be settled and transferred directly to the Ministry of Finance’s account at Banque du Liban, helping accelerate the collection process and improve the efficiency of government payment management.
