LEBANON — As healthcare providers increasingly turn to digital solutions to improve efficiency and patient care, a Lebanese technology company is introducing a platform designed exclusively for mental health professionals.
A Platform Designed for Mental Health Care
Developed by Beirut-based software company Lunarware, Astral Clinic is a cloud-based practice management system tailored to the needs of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and mental health centers.
The platform brings together patient records, appointment scheduling, clinical documentation, medication tracking, and administrative operations into a single digital environment.
Addressing a Common Challenge in Clinics
The initiative was led by Nicolas Kik, founder of Lunarware, who identified a recurring challenge among mental health practitioners: relying on multiple disconnected systems to manage daily operations.
"Many clinics are still forced to combine different tools for scheduling, documentation, and patient management," Kik said. "That fragmentation creates inefficiencies and takes valuable time away from patient care."
Astral Clinic seeks to address that issue by providing an integrated workflow specifically designed for mental health services. The platform allows practitioners to maintain comprehensive patient profiles, document consultations, organize treatment plans, and securely store clinical records within one centralized system.
Features Built Around Clinical Workflows
Among its features are automated scheduling tools, calendar synchronization, secure document management, customizable consultation templates, and access controls that enable different permission levels for clinicians, assistants, and administrators.
The platform also incorporates digital tools intended to support therapy sessions, including guided breathing exercises and bilateral stimulation features commonly used in therapeutic settings.
Security and Data Protection
Data protection remains a central focus of the system. According to Lunarware, patient information is protected through end-to-end encryption and security measures designed to align with international healthcare privacy standards, including HIPAA and GDPR requirements.
The launch reflects a broader trend toward the digital transformation of healthcare, particularly in specialized fields where clinical workflows often differ significantly from those of general medical practices.
With Astral Clinic now operational, Lunarware aims to provide mental health professionals with a dedicated technology solution that reduces administrative complexity and enables clinicians to focus more of their time on patient treatment and care.
