LEBANON – A high-level UAE economic delegation will visit Lebanon on August 26 and 27, headed by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and comprising 67 prominent economic leaders and senior business figures. The visit reflects the UAE’s interest in strengthening economic relations with Lebanon and supporting the country’s recovery and economic development efforts.
President of the Lebanese Economic Organizations and former minister Mohammad Choucair announced that the Lebanese Economic Organizations will host the UAE delegation, noting that the visit is part of efforts to reactivate economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Choucair stressed that a visit of this level and scale carries “highly significant positive implications,” describing it as a milestone in Lebanese-UAE economic relations. He said it clearly reflects the UAE’s interest in developing economic ties and strengthening cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.
He also noted that the visit represents support for Lebanon’s efforts to strengthen its resilience and embark on a path toward economic recovery and development. He added that the Lebanese private sector views the visit positively and hopes to build on it to further advance bilateral economic relations.
A Step Toward Revitalizing Economic Relations
Choucair said the Lebanese Economic Organizations are highly optimistic about the visit, describing it as an “important step” toward reactivating economic relations between Lebanon and the UAE.
He explained that the visit comes in the context of agreements reached during the summit meeting between Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflecting a shared direction toward strengthening cooperation and opening new avenues for economic and investment relations.
Focus on Lebanon’s Private Sector
The participation of such a large number of business leaders and economic figures is expected to provide an opportunity to explore areas of cooperation and investment between Lebanese and Emirati companies and institutions, as well as identify new opportunities that could contribute to boosting trade and economic ties.
Choucair reaffirmed the Lebanese private sector’s warm welcome to the UAE delegation, stressing the Economic Organizations’ commitment to leveraging the visit to build new partnerships and further develop economic relations in a way that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.
In this context, Choucair expressed his gratitude to the UAE and its leadership for the decisions and measures supporting Lebanon, expressing hope that the visit will mark the beginning of a new phase of economic cooperation between the two countries.
