LEBANON - Lebanese Education Minister Dr. Rima Karami took part in the global “Innovation and Collaboration in Education” forum held in London, where she highlighted the severe pressures facing Lebanon’s education sector.
The conference brought together ministers, education experts, and innovators from around the world to discuss global education challenges and reform strategies.
During the opening sessions, the Lebanese delegation presented the current state of education in Lebanon, focusing on the impact of wars, repeated crises, and the transformation of some schools into shelters for displaced families.
Officials outlined the Ministry of Education’s efforts to maintain learning continuity despite mounting challenges, stressing the urgent need for sustained international support to preserve access to education across the country.
The delegation also participated in a strategic dialogue session on national education priorities, which addressed the key challenges and opportunities facing Lebanon’s education system.
Discussions focused on identifying long-term support mechanisms aimed at advancing national education reform and strengthening the resilience of the sector.
On the sidelines of the conference, Lebanese officials held meetings with representatives of the UK’s higher education quality assurance authority to exchange expertise on academic standards and ways to improve higher education governance and quality assurance mechanisms.
